Q1. Bronze Body & Trim Ball Valve for size 0.5" - 12". Can any one tell me for the Design code?

Q2. In the given specification (CL 150), Client has given Check Valve with description "ASTM B62 Body,300#". But as per a table in MSS SP 80, ASTM B62 is threaded for 125 & 150#. Can you tell me meaning of 300# in CL150 spec ?

RE: MSS SP Query

If you checked the codes and standards for flange classes in the 1930's I think that you would find Class 150 correlating to saturated steam up to 150 psig etc.  Some of this is covered in the introduction to ASME B16.5 etc. but I don't have time to read right now.

Search ASME, MSS etc. for bronze in a standard title.

RE: MSS SP Query

These seem like good questions to ask your client.

RE: MSS SP Query

Q1.

Mss SP-110 covers ball valves. it's not specific to bronze but they are in the scope of the standard.

Q2.

Sounds like your client is specifying both class 150 and 300 at the same time so that will need to be sorted out with the client. They could be saying 300 is the cold working pressure often refereed to as CWP or WOG (water, oil, gas)rating. 300 psi is the WOG rating on a class 150 bronze valve.

If it is class 300 then the body material should be B61
