Hidden Items on laters.........

Hidden Items on laters.........

Hidden Items on laters.........

(OP)
Hi I'm using NX6 and I can't get rid of objects on certain layers. I can't see them or select them and now it takes quite a while to save my model. Is there an easy way to fix this?

RE: Hidden Items on laters.........

Use part Clean-Up in the File-Utilities menu MAY help.

Some of those entities may be component collectors from components brought into an assembly file which then had the body moved to another layer but not the component. With assemblies, always move the component, not just the body.

RE: Hidden Items on laters.........

They may also be sketch entities if it is a discrete part file. Moving the body after it is created will leave the sketch entities on their original layer.

Visible-in-View layer setings and/or view-dependent geometry may also explain the entity count.

RE: Hidden Items on laters.........

If you go Information - Other - Layer, you will get a listing of what object types resides on the individual layers,
Eg :
1   Selectable                        ALL, B_DATUM
  2   Selectable        8               ALL, B_DATUM
1 Point  1 Coordinate System  3 Datum Axis  3 Datum Plane

Then you can select a method on how to get rid of unneccessary stuff.

A tip if it might involve imported data, set the part navigator to non- timestamp order, then all lines etc will be listed under unused objects and can be selected there.

 Tomas
