HydroCad File

I installed the new update 9.12 and now when I create a new file it locks the file. It shows a lock symbol by the file name and noone else in the office can open the file. Is there a setting somewhere that is doing this? And if so, where is it and how do I change it?

RE: HydroCad File

I don't think this has anything to to with the update.  Are you running HydroCAD in an XP virtual machine on Windows 7?  That's the only place I've seen the locked file icons.  If so, please install and run HydroCAD in W7, rather than in the XP VM.  Otherwise W7 seems to lock the files so they can only be opened in XP.

I'm running it on Windows 7.

RE: HydroCad File

The locked-file icon seems to be a common issue with Windows-7 file permissions.  Not just with HydroCAD, but with any file type or application.  HydroCAD has absolutely no control over this behavior.  A Google search has lots of hits:

I haven't personally seen this issue, so that's all I can offer.  Perhaps others on Eng-Tips have dealt with this?
