Vehicle Safety

(OP)
Good morning to all:

I am currently working in the safety industry for cars, we work with different kinds of passive safety systems.
I think that there are several information that can be shared about it, doubts that may be discussed and solutions that may be found.

I am referring to things related to customer/government specifications, testing methods, testing results, analysis of data, performance of the actual systems, reality of the things.

We work mainly with Seat Belts, but we also have experience with airbags, SWS and other kind of systems.
Is there more automotive safety engineers here? What about to create a community about it?

Read the rules for this site.  You may start your own topic.

RE: Vehicle Safety

I think Automotive Engneering Other Topics is here exactly for the reason of catching anything not supporting its own specialist area. If it gets volume traffic on a subject, I am sure a forem could be set up.

Post here and see how it goes.

Pat

RE: Vehicle Safety

There are already in my opinion too many sub-fora on this site.  Posting a question here should get the job done.  If it is electrical, then a site already exists.

With the plethora of sub-fora, your topic may get lost in the noise.

RE: Vehicle Safety

Hi,

We had a set of three inspiring lectures on safety belts crash pulse design by a doctorate holder from MIRA last year during my MSc.

It will be nice to see some posts related to this, perhaps the body engineering sub forum is the closest we will have to passive a safety one.

I agree with this.
A really obscure topic shunted off into its own dark corner will likely be overlooked and ignored by the majority.

A search will probably uncover several previous threads of relevance, and posting in a mainstream thread will likely gain you far more exposure.

RE: Vehicle Safety

Agree.  There's a functional limit to how many forums you really want to be looking at; just consider the time it takes to click through and load each forum.  By keeping the forums a little bit broader, you'll get a wider audience, including those that might deem such a specialized forum as not worth the time and effort to poll.
