Tivar UHMW-PE Eco-recycled properties
Tivar UHMW-PE Eco-recycled properties
(OP)
Hi, I know this probably isn't the right section to ask but I am curious about Tivars reprocessed line of UHMW, in comparison to their virgin material, and if I would be able to trust reprocessed material from this company (Quadrant Engineering)? Use will be flat stock machined to small flanges (1-2" radii approx 7/32-1/4" mounting holes) used as wear ring against lightly loaded smooth low carbon steel shafts.
Will this product suit me or does the re-ground material have a tendency to 'flake' or show a less than factory appearance? Or are these notions purely a sales tactic derived from another company persuading me to beleive their re-processed UHMW is superior to all others including Tivar Eco?

What properties are the reprocessors willing to guarantee?

If so it's just another polyethylene (not fibres). There must be an Eng-Tips thermoplastics group?
