thread561-272195: reposition/move/transform part in assembly in NX6
I just switched fron nx2 to nx7.5
When I try to move a component dynamically, the default handles are aligned to the components absolute csys. In nx2, I was able to align the handles to the current WCS in just one click. Now I need a bunch of clicks to do the same thing. How do I do it in one click only?
Thanks.

There are a few other things you will miss for a while, but you'll learn to get along without them.
Such is the nature of 'advances' in the software industry.

Help (pull-down) > command finder
It is also on your "standard" toolbar.
RE: Dynamic repositioning along WCS
Using Move Component, select your Component and in the Dynamic mode a set of drag-handles will appear which you've already noted are based the Coordinate System of the Component and NOT the current WCS. Place your cursor over the origin of the set of handles (the largest 'sphere') and press MB3. There you will find an option to 'Orient Handle to WCS'. Select it and you will now be able to move the Component relative to the Assembly's WCS. Note that for subsequent Dynamic moves of this Component the WCS option will remain the default until you once again highlight the Origin of the handle and press MB3 where you will now find an option to 'Reset Handle' which will take it back to the default CSYS of the Component Part file.
Who said you'll need to learn "to get along without" something. You just need to look.
My advise when looking for something a little extra, always remember to PRESS MB3.

On behalf of my whole department, I wholeheartedly thank you. That's the kind of question our consultants weren't even able to understand, let alone answer. Thanks again.
