How to link the title block detail to file attr

How to link the title block detail to file attr

How to link the title block detail to file attr

(OP)
Hi,

I am using NX3, i want to link the title block details like Part no, rev etc to file attributes?

I am not using team center engineering.

Thanks

RE: How to link the title block detail to file attr

Are you asking for Part Attributes which reflect the entries in your title block or do wou wish the title block entries to reflect the values of Part Attributes?  In other words, are you looking for...

Part Attributes = Title Block Entry

...or...

Title Block Entry = Part Attribute

...?

Thanks for replying.

Information in reference set attributes should reflect in title block.

in otherwords partnumber information in title block should get updated from reference set attributes

RE: How to link the title block detail to file attr

Getting it to update is not the problem, all you need to do is create your note using the full text editor dialog.  Select the 'Relationships' tab and then the middle icon which is for 'Object' Attributes.  Select the Component (not the body) and you will get a list of available attributes, just select the relevant one.

Thanks,

but my requirement is to get the information from reference set model attributes.

format

reference set

work part - Model

edit attributes  (here i am entering the part no details)

RE: How to link the title block detail to file attr

I'm sorry, but it's not clear what it is you're asking for.  If you have a component with attributes assigned to it, there is no problem creating notes which reflects the 'value' of those attributes.

RE: How to link the title block detail to file attr

gjgjlkj,

If you have entered, suppose an attribute "Material" in File->Properties->Attributes and put a value of "ABC"

as well as

in Format->Reference Set->"Model" Ref set (for example)->Attributes and entered same attribute "Material" with a different value, say "XYZ".

and in Drafting file (assuming the drafting file is created by calling/adding the above file as a component), in the Annotation Editor select Relationships Tab->Object Attributes->Select the Component and then select "Material". You can see that the value reflected for "Material" attribute is that of Reference set i.e. "XYZ" and not "ABC".

Conclusion : Reference set Attribute values are Preferred over File -> Properties -> Attributes by NX.
