Time required to transfer crude from De-salter to distillation tower

Hello Everybody,

I am working on project to calculate average time required for crude oil to transfer between initial unit operations such as crude oil storage tank, desalter, crude oil furnace and distillation tower. I know it is continuous process.

Will you please tell me how much (average) time crude oil takes to transfer from "DE-SALTER" to "Heat Exchanger / crude furnace" and from Furnace to "Atmospheric Distillation Tower"?

RE: Time required to transfer crude from De-salter to distillation tower

Surely your are joking? Surely you know it depends on the distances involved and the rate at which the crude oil is being pumped?

If you don't know that, its hopeless.

To mbeychok,

Thank you for your reply. I am looking for average crude oil velocity. In fact I am looking for particular xyz refinery example in operation. If you or anybody working with refinery, can share practical experience.
