Normalizing Analyzer Vent Pressure

Normalizing Analyzer Vent Pressure

Normalizing Analyzer Vent Pressure

(OP)
I have a situation in which several analyzers are venting into a single vent header, which then runs to a flare stack.  Unfortunately, the pressure in the flare stack varies by ~40psi, which throws off the analyzer calibration.

I had an idea of putting the vent header behind an backpressure regulator (holding pressure in the vent header at ~1" WC) and having a diaphragm pump to pull suction on the line and push it into the flare stack.

Do you see any problems with this?  Is there a better way to handle it?

RE: Normalizing Analyzer Vent Pressure

The vent rate from many anazlers are often quite small - maybe you could make a local "vent to safe location" e.g. 3 m up into the air? Or a local vent where you have a fan that mixes the gas from the analyzers with enough air to go below LEL?

Best regards
Morten

For the Parker Vent Master check the following site:

Another option from TRACE Technology, Inc. is the TRACErase Analyzer Vent Hydrocarbon & H2S Emission Eliminators. I use Mertech as the representative in Houston.
