Valve Train Design

Valve Train Design

Valve Train Design

(OP)
Hi!

I want to know where I can find a procedure to design a valve train (for gas, steam, oil, water, etc) taking into account pressure drops, etc etc. I have the main data from fluids (flow, temperature, pressure inlet, etc) and depending from use and application of each fluid, i can go to any CODE to choose valves and instruments. The only problem I have is to determine pressure drops due to valves, instruments, bypasses, and pipe lengths between valves and instruments.
Can you help me with that?

Thanks!
Saver

RE: Valve Train Design

For pressure drop calculations Crane Technical Paper No. 410 and manufacturer supplied valve data can give you all the help you need.

Cheers.

RE: Valve Train Design

Look for the valve's Cv, or Kv factor and you'll be able to find its pressure drop at any flow.
