Delrin vs PVDF for Epoxy

Delrin vs PVDF for Epoxy

Delrin vs PVDF for Epoxy

(OP)
I am coating the inside of some steel tanks with epoxy and I need to plug the threaded outlet holes during the process. I was thinking either Delrin or PVDF. Will epoxy release from these? I don't want to use Teflon because of the cost.

RE: Delrin vs PVDF for Epoxy

Delrin will NOT release from epoxy.
I don't think it will release well from PVDF, either.

But polyethylene and polypropylene will both release nicely, and they're much cheaper, not least because molded pipe plugs are available in most sizes, so you don't have to pay for machined versions.

Thanks, Mike. I was thinking polypropylene, but couldn't find any in McMaster-Carr until I searched in a different section. Yes, they are dirt cheap.
