I was just wondering what the lowest temperature any of you have cured phenolic at?

RE: Phenolic resin

I don't know.
The reaction product water comes out at 160F or so, so any temperature above that should be sufficient.

How long would you cure it for at 160F?

RE: Phenolic resin

It needs maybe half an hour _at_ 160F to get the water out and let the resin start to gel.

Then, at some temperature above that, as long as it takes to get hard.  I have no idea, really, but you can set up an experiment in an old toaster oven...

Resole or novolac?  Resoles technically will cure at room temp but it takes months.  Any application of heat speeds this up.  Novolac's require temperature to begin the cure reaction.

It's primco SL246/40 prepreg.
