SW2011 crashes on material changes

SW2011 crashes on material changes

Hello Group,

Solidworks 2011 crashes when I try to change the material appearance of a model. This occurs on all models. All modeling features behave well except for this issue. The dialog box says "Solidworks has stopped working...finding a solution to this problem. This may take several minutes". When I click 'ok', the program closes.

My computer is two months old and is an:

Intel i7, 12Gb RAM, 950 @ 3.07 Ghz
NVIDIA Quadro 2000

Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

Rich

Forgot to mention the O/S: Win7 pro

1) Uninstall and reinstall the graphics card driver

2) Run a repair of SW

Re: Graphics card driver. Make sure it's the correct driver then unistall/reinstall or uninstall and install the correct one.
Also, you might want to check the kb to see if it's known issue. If it's not, and neither of CBL's suggestion work, you'll probably want to get your VAR involved.
