Just started working with this approx 8yr old Mits 3015 LVP, and the two operators they have for this machine know the intricacies of the machine itself, but can't fully answer my laser specific questions.
I understand lasers quite well, and am looking for some help from someone that has worked first hand on this laser.

1. How accurate are the factory cut conditions?

2. I have always used 4000w, 2000Hz & 100% when clean cutting, am I really suppose to use 2000w, 1300Hz & 50%? If so, please explain.

3. Does anyone use the double nozzles to cut thick S/S and ALUM?

4. If I cut at 50% how many more hours do get in between resonator PM?

Kylebski,

I know Mitsubishi Laser very well.  Let me try and point you in the right direction.

1.  The factory cutting conditions are usually very close.  Depending on machine setup (last time maintenacne was completed) you usually only change gas pressure or focus position.  If your a member of the mitsubishi-worl website, you can download the factory recommded conditions or call their support center.

2.What machine do you have (exact model number)?  Why would you use 2000w 1300hz 50%?  Using 4000w at 100% makes the frequency invalid.  100% means continuous wave.  Assuming you have a 4000w laser, you would use 4000w 1300hz 80%.

3.Double nozzles are made for cutting thick mild steel .5"~1.0".  Not used for stainles or aluminum.

4.Resonator PM is based upon environment and application.  If you use lower power, it is feasable to get longer maintenance intervals on resonator maintenance.
