Cable gland for Copper wire braid cable
Cable gland for Copper wire braid cable
(OP)
All,
I'm using a 5 runs of 1Core 95sq.mm RFOU Cable( Copper wire braided cable).
Low voltage application(415V, 3ph+N+E)
Can i use Brass glands and metal gland plate?
I've seen lot of threads in this topic but not able to understand.
I'm basically stuck in selecting the correct type of gland and gland plate.
Can some one help me out?
Thanks for your time in advance.
Regards,
Sen

RE: Cable gland for Copper wire braid cable
Beware of image currents in the screens if the cables are bonded at both ends. Image currents in the screen can be your friend in terms of reducing external magnetic fields (i.e. reduced emission) but eat up current-carrying capacity of the main conductor.
Is this an HF application?

Thanks for your reply. Can i use Brass glands with Aluminium gland plate?
Cables are bonded at both the ends? Is there any other impact other than reduced current carrying capacity? How to calculate the effect on current carrying capacity?
Will it over heat the cables?
I read in some of the posts that, if cables are bonded at both ends, chances of circulating currents in the armour.
In my case, i'm using a Copper wire braid, will it have same circulating current effects in this as well?
