Rigid body nodes replaced to a single node

Rigid body nodes replaced to a single node

Rigid body nodes replaced to a single node

(OP)
Hi all,

I have assigned all nodes of a discrete rigid body to a single node at reference point, say RP1. My question is that can I just pick this point, RP1, to introduce the restraint as boundary conditions rather than the actual nodes at the discrete rigid body itself? In another word, all nodes at discrete rigid body are replaced with RP1.

Thanks for any response.

RE: Rigid body nodes replaced to a single node

Hi helmi30,
yes thats right, ABAQUS only accepts boundary conditions to be applied to the reference node alone. The RP1 alone  governs the displacement of the whole rigid body
