Suggestions of kinematics software for truck suspensions (leaf spring)

Suggestions of kinematics software for truck suspensions (leaf spring)

(OP)
Hello:

I am trying to build decent kinematic curves using mechanism extension in Pro/E WF4.

The set up is for a solid axle leaf spring suspension system. I am using the SAE spring manual to build an approximate 3 link model to represent the spring.

I was wondering if there was a kinematics software that would build these curves for me?

I am sure ADAMS can do this, but I do not have access to that software. Most of the other titles are more inclined towards race cars and independent systems.

Thank you,

RE: Suggestions of kinematics software for truck suspensions (leaf spring)

Yup, ADAMS offers you the choice of 3 link or a full non linear FEA of leafsprings. 3 link is good enough for most handling work, you may need to add friction one way or another.

In theory any general mechanisms package will do the kinematics for you. You might look at one of the FAQs for this forum for ideas, Nastran 4d for example.
