Retrive Part History

Retrive Part History

Retrive Part History

(OP)
Hi,
Is it possible to recover previous Part History, after multiple part modification and Saves?

Thanks!

RE: Retrive Part History

Look at:
Info > Part > Part History
and see if that will help you.

Thanks jerry1423,
I was wondering if there's a way to get to the math data which the part has started with (before other modification have occurred and saved). If I go to: Info > Part > Part History , I will get just statistical information about the part. What I need is to recuperate the math data at that specific stage. Maybe "Macro" function will do that? I am just trying to guess.......!

RE: Retrive Part History

You can look into Help > Log file
and try to decipher that stuff, but I doubt if it gives what you want.
what I do in your case is save the expressions from the model file at certain stages of development of the model. There is an "export expressions to file" icon at the top/right of the expressions menu.

RE: Retrive Part History

There is only one truly reliable scheme which allows you to access older versions of a your models and that is to use something like TeamCenter where you automatically archive every revision of the part file as it's being saved.  Baring that, there is very little that you can do to fully recover an older version of a part file.

Now it has been mentioned that you could look at the 'Part History' as it will show you a record of the revisions, but what you should be looking at is the 'Modification' information.  You can find this by going to...

Information -> Part -> Modifications...

...and setting the Criteria to 'At or Before', toggle ON 'Display Part History' and hit OK.  The listing that you will get will not only include the complete Part History in terms of the revisions and when and who saved them, but also a listing of when the features of the model were created and last modified including expression values.  With this information it's possible to 'reconstruct' at least somewhat the state of the model (parameters and content) for each saved revision.
