ammonia scrubber
ammonia scrubber
(OP)
hello,
i'm designing a process which includes ammonia emissions, are there any ammonia-water scrubbers available in market? is there any better way to get rid of ammonia?

RE: ammonia scrubber
Is this a large incineration vent?
or small like clearing of truck hoses?
Is the Nh3 concentrated or dilute?
RE: ammonia scrubber
it is pure, gasous NH3, in a scale of ~800 kg/hr (batch reactor, so not continuous), at ~160 degrees celcius.
RE: ammonia scrubber
I would consider a Flare.
Croll Reynolds used to be a package vendor for ammonia scrubbing. I am not sure if they are still in business. The most likely scrubber system would be an initial venturi scrubber to knock out gross amounts of NH3 followed by multi packed sections to reduce emissions to the ppm concentration. One also has to deal with reagent (caustic)purchases and waste water treatment. Ammonia is released if the waste water is acidified. The circulation pump power at the venturi is a significant cost.
In my view, a Flare beats the scrubber for this application.
