PN Flange test pressure

PN Flange test pressure

PN Flange test pressure

(OP)
Can anyone tell if the maximum test pressure is stated in the latest standard for PN designated flanges (BS EN1092-1 2007) Previous std (BS 4504) stated 1.5 x nominal pressure rating.
I cannot find any reference to maximum hydrotest pressure in the latest standard.

RE: PN Flange test pressure

Haven't work with BS EN1092-1 2007 personally but in Annex E it states:

- Nominal design stress:
at operation 140 MPa;
at assembly and testing 200 MPa (Ptest=1.43×PN)

Hope this helps.

RE: PN Flange test pressure

To my knowledge, it is still 1.5X; I use 1.1 for the Seat test in Ball Valves, but that's just me.

RE: PN Flange test pressure

I agree with Kenneth, still 1.5 x.

RE: PN Flange test pressure

I agree with waterpipe,
acc. PED it's 1.43xPN

So that's 2-2.

Greetings

RE: PN Flange test pressure

CSA Z662-07 Clause 8.19.5(b) and Table 8.1 (see also Clause 8.15.1.3), CSA Z245.12-05 Clause 5.2.3 and Table B.1 suggest to me (1.5 x MOP), but I admit I am having trouble finding where this is stated explicitly with no need for interpretation.

So, it's 3-2...just not sure who's leading.

Quoting the man I admire most in this universe...

"D'OH!"

Of course, I *meant* 1.5 x flange rating, not MOP.

RE: PN Flange test pressure

What I meant to say was 1.5 x flange rating.
