Sketch In Drafting Views

Sketch In Drafting Views

Sketch In Drafting Views

(OP)
I have drawing X and drawing Y. Drawing X has a Base View with a sketch tied to it. Is there a way to copy some of those sketch curves (or the entire sketch itself) to a different Base View in Drawing Y (a differen file)?

If you add basic curves thru Expand Member View, you can copy/paste to other drawings or views.

I've set the WCS to Absolute in both files before copy/pasting the individual curves. You cannot convert the sketch curves to Model using VDE either. And you cannot copy the entire sketch feature since it is not part of the Model History. Any ideas?

We are running NX6.0.5.3, MP 3 -

Thanks in advance!

RE: Sketch In Drafting Views

May be Extracted edges in drafting view will help?

RE: Sketch In Drafting Views

There is no practical way to do this that I'm aware of.  However, for NX 7.5 we have enhanced the Copy & Paste capabilities with respect to Sketches so that this is now easy to do.
