Ups-Genset Comptability

Ups-Genset Comptability

Ups-Genset Comptability

(OP)
Hello ,I wonder how these two operate together? They operate parallel or a in a different way? I did not see any example of this till now. Please tell me about this roughly...

RE: Ups-Genset Comptability

When the power fails the UPS carries the load until the standby generator comes online.
Some UPS units want to see closer tolerances on frequency than may be possible with a basic diesel generator.
It is much easier to change to a diesel generator friendly UPS than to worry about the generator.

RE: Ups-Genset Comptability

A couple of articles you may find helpful,

http://www.facilitiesnet.com/powercommunication/article/Backup-Generators-UPS-Systems-Provide-Power-in-an-Outage--11858

These articles provide general overviews of these type systems for people not familiar with them.  Many UPS manufacturers have application and technical information for specific systems.

Hope it helps, Mike L.
