thread561-83152: import DXF/DWG files

I receive electrical schematics from a supplier in DXF form. I would like to move them into UG/NX (our CAD program). When I open the DXF or import the file it always shows up in the model space.
How do I either import it to the drafting page directly?
<or>
How do I move what is in the model to the drafting page? I should say I don't want a view of it as I often need to rename and edit some features.

Thanks,
NT

RE: Importing a DXF into UG (model vs drafting)

Keep it in the model space and do your edits there. Create a view of it in drafting. This is how the software was intended to work and will make life easier later i.e. you can easily scale the view for different paper sizes, easily move the view around on your sheet, add callout information, etc etc.
