Steam Mains

Steam Mains

Steam Mains

(OP)
Hello good people,

Would any one be kind enough to advise me on the relevant literature to consult when setting up steam mains in a Process System.

I am in a team saddled with "cogeneration of power and heat". Power, by expanding steam at different pressure levels, VHP, HP, MP & LP levels.

Kind Regards

RE: Steam Mains

By your phrase: "..setting up steam mains in a Process System." I assume you mean designing the entire multi-pressure steam system.

Is this an entirely new system involving a cogeneration plant ?

This not a simple task, and I assume that your team has never done this before (Perhap your boss has a brand-new MBA ?)

I suggest engaging the services of an engineering consultant who will evaluate electrical and steam demands, select equipment, piping system design and develop a computer based steam network model. The model will be subject to many operating conditions, alternatives discussed and the best system will be the result of the study.

Please give us more information about your system !!
