Material grouping

Material grouping

(OP)
an anyone confirm me if my material grouping is correct :

1 PQR ASME in 304L for material welding of:
321
316L
309
304L

1 PQR ASME in INCOLOY800 for material welding of :
INCOLOY800
INCOLOY825

1 PQR ASME in INCONEL600 for material welding of :
INCONEL600

thanks in advance for your comments and remarks.

RE: Material grouping

Yes, you have them grouped correctly.

RE: Material grouping

A PQR qualified using a 304L grade of material which is a P-N° 8 would be qualified to weld all P-N° 8 Materials which would include the materials you have listed but also others.

The qualified range of a PQE should be based on the Materials P-N° not a specific material.

Thanks for your comments.
regarding P-N°, P-N° 8 will be for 321, 316L, 309 and 304L.
For INCOLOY 800 and INCOLOY 825 P-N°45 ?
For INCONEL 600 P-N° 43 ?

What about welding filler metals. there is no grouping difference. We are using 316L, 309L, 347 or 625

RE: Material grouping

316L, 309L, 347 are in F6 for bare wire or flux cored wire and F5 for coated electrodes. 625 (E/ERNiCrMo-3)is F43.
