category 4 estop requirements

(OP)
Situation: If you had a gate entry, you need a gate switch to tell you if the gate is open or closed. The gate switch is wired to a 2 channel estop device rated for category 4.

Is it true under a category 4 protection that you can not daisy chain gate switches (rated below category 4) from this gate or from other gates? you can only daisy chain estop pushbuttons.

Is it also true for category 4 protection that you need two gate switches for each gate?

Is it true that the gate switches would have to be rated for category 4 to be daisy chained?

Reason I am asking, a safety manufacturer rep said that the above statements are true. I am not sure if he is trying to double the amount of gate switches he wants us to buy or this is the result of new regulations that came out recently on category 4 protection?
