Geometrical Set Question

Geometrical Set Question

Geometrical Set Question

(OP)
hi everyone

Let me please tell you that I'm working with Geneartive shape surface module I received one CAD model in igs file format then I break up the model in parts using geometrical set

inside of each geometrical set I tried to remove gaps surfaces whit healing surface and finally I did a join surface

what I'm looking for is to have a whole closed surface but when I try to link the geometrical set between each other the model became in a mess

mi question is how should I work in catia with many geometrical set to assembly the whole model to have one model closed? how should I work with many geometrical set to have control of what I doing?

thank you all and hope please to have news from you

see you in advance

Enzo

RE: Geometrical Set Question

Many ways to manage the data. It's not important to CATIA, but more of a usability issue.

Personally, after grouping the surfaces into sets for each part, I would add a second Geometric Set for each part for any new features you add to the IGES data (healing, joins, new curves, etc.)

- GEOM SET PART A (FROM IGES)
  - SURF.1
  - SURF.2
  - SURF.3
- GEOM SET PART A (MODIFIED)
  - SURF.20
  - JOIN.3
      .
(same two Geom Sets for each part)
      .
- PART BODY
  - CLOSED SURF.1 (PARTA)
  - CLOSED SURF.2 (PARTB)
