Feedback control system based on current

Feedback control system based on current

Feedback control system based on current

(OP)
Hi there,,i had a laser system which has a stable output for a certain range of current,, But i am having an unstable output (noise) out of this range of current.
Because of that i need an feedback control system which will change the current according to this approach. For example,,if there is noise for increasing current values ,,this system will decrease the current to my applied range.

How can i build up such system ???

RE: Feedback control system based on current

Step 1:  Get an EE degree.
Step 1a:  You can rent one if you like.

Step 2:  Give up on trying to fix a noise problem with a roached-on feedback control.
Step 2a:  Go ahead and try to do it.  Bring your wallet.

Step 3:  Find the noise source and fix it.

So.....just make a supply that will not go outside of that current range.  You can have a clamp circuit that stops the current from getting too large or too small.

RE: Feedback control system based on current

Instability and noise are different. Noise by its nature is difficult to reduce by feedback. Instability can almost certainly be controlled.

RE: Feedback control system based on current

It all depends on your point of view I suppose. One man's noise could be another man's instability!

There are current regulating power supplies, did you look into that? I used to work for a company called Phasetronics in Florida, we made current regulating power units for lasers and EBGs. I'm not sure there is anyone left there to help you now, but we had competition and I'm sure there are digital versions now that could offer much closer regulation that anything we did with analog.
