Can I measure an stl file in SolidWorks? I import an stl into part mode and I don't seem to be able to do anything at all with it. Am I doing something wrong?
When was the last time you drove down the highway without seeing a commercial truck hauling goods?

RE: stl files
An STL file describes a raw unstructured triangulated surface by the unit normal and vertices (ordered by the right-hand rule) of the triangles using a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system.
Try running FeatureWorks on it, though I'm not sure it'll work.
