Align two broken views
Align two broken views
(OP)
Hello,
is it possible to align two broken views of the same part (see attached picture)?
Thanks.

RE: Align two broken views
Other then trying to define identically sized broken view identically placed breakout section curves, I can't think of another way to do this and get the results you desire.

One more thing, totaly off-topic, but concerned with NX: adding darts: is it possible to create non-symetric dart?
thanks

RE: Align two broken views
In model space, while still in the draft file, on an un-used layer, create planes within the part, where you approximately want the break lines, then on another un-used layer, create intersections on the part, with those planes, which you'll later use to snap the break lines to.
Then, go into drafting, after turning off the planes layer, then create your views, then when you add broken views to them, you can pick the same points, so the views stay the same length, and will therefore line up..
The part you showed will work fine like this, as it's the same height in front and plan views..
However, if like me, (you use the jagged broken lines), this becomes slightly more complicated, if the part is say an un-equal angle section, because the jagged lines become wider and so make the views different lengths, sooooo...
then i create 2 more planes equally either side of the first ones you added, and add these into the intersection feature, then, when back inside the broken views, you can, "move boundary points" and pick the corners of the zig-zags, and associate them to the planes also...
When all done the views will stay the same length, and so will align properly....phew..!!
