How to rotate the geometry in ANSYS

How to rotate the geometry in ANSYS

How to rotate the geometry in ANSYS

(OP)
Hello Everyone,

I am trying to work out an example illustrating importance of frame indifference in constitutive modeling. To do that, I have a created a rectangular plate under uniaxial tension in the global coordinate system. Now I need to rotate this initial configuration by some angle theta. I am trying to figure it out but I am unsuccessful so far.

I have looked at NROTAT, AROTAT and VROTAT commands but I am not sure if they are the ones to use.

I would appreciate any suggestion in this regard

Thanks

RE: How to rotate the geometry in ANSYS

How about the LGEN/AGEN/VGEN commands in combination with a cylindrical coordinate system? (check CS/CSKP/CSYS commands)

RE: How to rotate the geometry in ANSYS

If you have Ansys DesignModeler, you can use the GUI to do solid body rotations/translations quite easily.
