What are your opinions about this request?

Service Request #2762 has been filed.

Detailed description:
Customer wants to use display configuration to control the BOM on the drawing

Workflow:
Our customer wants to use display configuration to control the content of a Bill Of Material on the drawing independently from the views. The ultimate goal for the customer is to filter out components based on the Solid Edge custom properties e.g. do not show components with the property "class = pipe".
With their previous solid edge version (v20) they had some customization which did the job . However with their current version (ST2) this does not work anymore. Therefore the customer is looking for an alternative solution using standard Solid Edge functionality.

For this customer it would be a great enhancement if it is possible to use a display configuration to control the contents of the BOM, independently from the views. Currently the display configurations is only used to control the view and the view in turn will control the contents of the BOM. Because of this behavior its not possible to have a view which shows all components together with a BOM which does not show all components.

RE: Display configuration to control the BOM

Does ST3 do that?
