Fire Alarm System shut down?

Fire Alarm System shut down?

Fire Alarm System shut down?

(OP)
Hello all,

we are doing some design work on a Kitchen and cafeteria in a federal building in NY that has an existing simplex 4100 fire alarm panel. I am trying to find out if it is required by code to shut down power from electrical equipment under the hoods such as oven, toaster and grill in case of Ansul system activation? Also how would "FCM-1 notifier" control module work in this case to shut down power, since i have a simplex 4100 and the notifier is addressable and needs an addressable panel? do i need to connect the FCM-1 through a combination starter? and if the existing FA system is not addressable how can i shut down power to equipment?

I highly appreciate your feedback,
thank you

RE: Fire Alarm System shut down?

This site has a fairly active NFPA fire code forum - that's where this question belongs.

I recommend that you red-flag your own post and ask the moderator to move it to that forum.
