NURBS question

NURBS question

NURBS question

(OP)
Hello all,
I need to D/L a model but it is a NURBS format.  After the download I will need to modify it (add some holes, insert into an assembly, stretch it a bit, etc.)  Will I be able to do all of this with a NURBS model?  Can i convert it to a STEP?  I ask all of this because I have to buy the download and I can not afford to waste the cash.

Thanks,
BB

RE: NURBS question

What is the extensions available?  Once in SolidWorks adding holes and inserting it into an assembly will be no problem.  The stretching could be performed by scaling in 1 direction or by deform, warp, freeform etc.  I hope this helps.

Hi Rod,
The extension is .IGES

RE: NURBS question

SolidWorks can open the file then.  After that save it as a sldprt make your changes then export in any format you like such as STEP.  I hope this helps.
