ST2 Draft: Fit text in block attributes

ST2 Draft: Fit text in block attributes

ST2 Draft: Fit text in block attributes

Hello;
I started to use Solid Edge ST2 now, and I need to import a large number of AutoCAD files. These files have attributes, some of which have stretched text, what ST2 can not import. Is there some way to "fit" texts in attributes in ST2 Draft?

RE: ST2 Draft: Fit text in block attributes

Can you show an image of what you mean by stretched, and what it looks like after importing.

Thanks for reply, sorry for my bad english.

I tried to make some printscreens to explain what I mean.

First, the text attribute in my block in autocad:

This text is fitted using the option below in block properties:

And this is the way that Solid Edge imports the same file:

If that specific text in ACad is a different font to the other text you should be able to map it to a narrow font in Solid Edge eg. Arial Narrow. It might then just fit in the box. That would then work for converting from ACad.

Other than that you can change the aspect ratio of the text in Solid Edge:- RMB on the text > Properties > Paragraph > Aspect Ratio.
Try setting it to 0.7, that should give roughly the same scaling, but it will depend how the fonts are mapped.
This needs to be done manually, there is no automatic way when importing.

Thanks for the reply, will be helpful.

But actually, in this case, I'm working with a text within a block, which does not have the same configuration options of a single text.

In the properties block, as much as in the block editor, I can not change the aspect ratio of a text.

RE: ST2 Draft: Fit text in block attributes

In Solid Edge double-click the block to open it, then you can modify the text roperties, just the same as any other text.
