Area protection for mine site conditions

Area protection for mine site conditions

(OP)
Hi All,

We have an application where we need to protect the area around a hazardous piece of plant from entry by the operators.

The site is an under ground mine with ambient temperature requirements of plus 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit)

The application suits a floor scanner type device (i.e. SICK PLS) but I can't find this class of device for ambient temperatures suitable for mine use.

Has anyone come across any alternatives? What systems or devices have you used previously to protect the area around dangerous plant where the erection of guarding/safety mats is not feasible?

Cheers

mb

EDIT: there are no specified safety category requirements for the installation

EDIT, in the question I asked to see what sort of devices people have used, I meant which have you used in a mine site or similarly onerous environment

cheers
