Hello everyone,
can someone please let me know how to set the settings of a vista protective relay? On what basis is the pick-up, U2 inverse, Instantaneous and the definite time settings selected?

RE: protective relay

Also look for Blackburn's Power System Protection book.  It's a good one.  It does discuss overcurrent protection, which is what I assume you are looking at using considering the settings you are asking for.

RE: protective relay

Gee, I thought that Blackburn's book was the first on the list under Power System Protection in the FAQ that rbulsara referenced.

RE: protective relay

Seems like you need more help than this forum can provide.  How about one of your in house colleagues?  You need to consider the upstream protection settings, as well as the load you need to serve at a minimum.

Thanks everyone for the help!!!
Racobb - I dont have any information regarding the upstream protective device. There is a transformer fuse on the downstream and the transformer itself is rated at 2500kVA at 34500kV/480V,%Z - 5.75.
