Ponding analysis for wood roof trusses

Ponding analysis for wood roof trusses

Ponding analysis for wood roof trusses

(OP)
I have to do a ponding analysis for a low slope (<1/4" per ft) roof consisting of wood roof trusses.  Does anyone know of any design guides or literature out there to help with this?

RE: Ponding analysis for wood roof trusses

The AITC Design Manual has information on this.

RE: Ponding analysis for wood roof trusses

A 1/4'' per foot is usually enough unless the drainage path becomes blocked.  Then as in any roof things can go to H&&ll real quick.  So multiple paths and/or drains are recommended.

IBC has something on this too.. Can't remember just where.

IF the trusses become loaded for any length of time - then you must consider the creep characteristics of wood - which can eat up any slope or camber rather quickly.
