Deleting a Constraint i added

Deleting a Constraint i added

(OP)
I want to find out how to delete individual constraints added to a sketch. For example, I added a constraint to make all sides of a square equal in length. I want to delete this constraint. The closest I can find is by selecting a line, right clicking on it and "Removing All Constraints". Don't want to remove them all however, just individually.

RE: Deleting a Constraint i added

First of all, what version of NX your on?  In NX4 there is a button in sketcher Show/Remove contraints (see att. pic) select All in Active Sketch on top of the menu and then select the contraint you wish to delete. The constraint will be highlighted in the sketch.
You can also use Show all contraints, push the c button on your keyboard, this will allow you to select the constraint, click on the constrain and delete it, push s on the keyboard will switch back to selecting sketch features/dimensions.
I'm not sure NX5 has the following but from NX6 on you can select your contraints by just standing on the line/curve/... and wait for the selecting intent (the 3 dots) then you will see as well the dimension as well as the contraints regarding that line/arc/... select the contraint and delete it.

Best regards,

Michaël.

RE: Deleting a Constraint i added

Micky007 is correct, but to make one small correction, the function where "...you can select your contraints by just standing on the line/curve/... and wait for the selecting intent (the 3 dots) then you will see..."  is NOT part of Selection Intent as that is what allows you to set the selection RULES such as 'Tangent Curves', 'Connected Curves', 'Single Face', etc.  The '3 dots' is what indicates that you can use 'QuickPick' to select from a list of available objects.

BTW, you mention that you have to 'wait' for the '3 dots'.  May I suggest that you try this.  Go to...

Preferences -> Selection...

...and in the 'QuickPick' section fo the dialog toggle OFF the 'QuickPick on Delay' option.  This way you can move your cursor over any object you please and even pause and the QuickPick option will NOT be triggered.  However, when you wish to use 'QuickPick', simply holding down MB1 for half a second will trigger it for you.  This was the user has complete and total control over when and if 'QuickPick' is to be used or not.  That's the way I've used it for years and it makes it a lot friendlier, not having to wait or having it activate when not wanted or needed.

Using NX6. Just found a command called "Show All Constraints". Doh. RC and delete desired constraint. Thanks all.
