Hide feature hides entire part ???

Hide feature hides entire part ???

Hide feature hides entire part ???

(OP)
Hello all,
I have a simple part and when I go to hide a hole feature the entire part becomes hidden.  Anyone else having this problem?  If so, what is known about it?

Thanks,

RE: Hide feature hides entire part ???

When you hide a feature that is part of the "Body" then your not hiding the feature your actually hiding the body. If the Feature is "Not merged" with the body then you can hide that feature.

Yeah, I think you're looking trying to temporarily suppress the feature.  The problem is that any child features will get suppressed as well.

RE: Hide feature hides entire part ???

Features Cannot be hidden, they can only be suppressed. You can create a Simplified Configuration and use that to suppress the Hole Feature. Another way to get this without affecting history and child features would be to Use an Assembly Cut which you can suppress or just do a Delete Faces to remove the flat and conic (cylinder) faces from the Hole and patch the surface.

Since any feature is part of the solid body it cannot be hidden without taking the body along for the ride. Even with use of Layers in Pro/E features cannot be hidden and if hidden on a layer only the Hole Axes (Temporary Axis) gets hidden.

Only non-merged features can be hidden.

Merged features can only be suppressed.
