(OP)
I am working on a plan to backfill a double collar vertical vent shaft and need to be able to work directly over the shaft to determine where to find competent rock within the shaft and later to construct a foam plug within the shaft.

My concern is with the shaft sloughing around the collar.  We are planning to use fall arresting systems on workers but I think some sort of truss crossover is needed for work over the shaft.  I wondered if anyone else has used this type of system in the past.

Thank you,

Jason
