Cant get part to convert.

Cant get part to convert.

Cant get part to convert.

(OP)
Hi. I am working on a dowel part family in NX3 (to bring in to my NX6 library). I am trying to convert it from inches to mm via the external unit conversion program. For some reason it is failing to convert and not telling me why. I checked all my expressions and can't seem to find the problem. any help would be appreciated. I will attach the file.

Thanks
Adam

RE: Cant get part to convert.

The conversion process reported success for me. I notice that some of you expressions have units (e.g. body length up, body length down) but some do not (e.g. bodydiameter, clearance).

After conversion the expressions with inch units will not be converted to mm, but the file is metric.

RE: Cant get part to convert.

Expression units are considered 'Design Intent' and are therefore NOT converted when the part file is converted from one BASE unit to another.

After all, if you had a Metric unit Part file containing a 'plate' with a 10 mm hole next to a 1/2 inch hole and I converted to to an Imperial unit (inch) part and then back again, what would you expect the model to show?

Thanks. I don't know why, but it still won't convert for me. I had no problems with any other conversions so far.
