Three Phase Motor Data

Three Phase Motor Data

Three Phase Motor Data

(OP)

We have an existing BURT 110KW 380V 3phase electric motor coupled to a hsc pump. The pumps are under operation for 24 hours a day.We are afraid that one day the motor failed so the management decided to buy a spare in case of failure we can directly replace the motor without altering the coupling and the mounting. But we have problem finding "BURT Electric Motor". the pump supplier cant provide us either. We are looking for other supplier but all we can give them are the nameplate details.

motor details were also unavailable in the net. Does anyone in here had stored data available?

Regards

Hoover!

RE: Three Phase Motor Data

Post a photograph of the nameplate. That should detail things like frame size etc. Sounds like a fairly standard motor from the little information you've posted. I've never heard of the manufacturer.

RE: Three Phase Motor Data

It's a TECO part number - here's the AEEB catalogue. http://www.teco.com.sg/admin2/images/e-catalog/Catalogue%20AEEB.pdf

Might give you a starting point - maybe worth a call to TECO in your area to decipher the full part number?

RE: Three Phase Motor Data

Dear Sir,

Where are the motor  located? in USA or Europe?

If you are in USA I will take account is an IEC  motor with all  sizes in milímeters, not so many american manufacturers have in stock this kind of IEC motors but Siemens could be the appropied contact, this group manufacture both NEMA and IEC motors.

Another point is the wrong voltage data in the name plate information for 60 Hz.

Regards

Carlos

Good Day!

@ petronila
The motors were located here in asia.it were actually a factory choice by Grunfos coupled to one of their pumps.
@ scottyUK
that's our problem sir, deciphering the code for us to identify the proper frame size, etc.

regards,

RE: Three Phase Motor Data

If it is an IEC motor - which it certainly appears to be - then you should be able to measure the major parameters like shaft height and mounting centres which should get you the frame size and any modifer for short / medium / long frame. Bearing type should let you see if you have a standard motor or a variant designed to accept axial loads. My guess is that it could be a factory 'special' built for Grundfos - maybe an extended shaft or similar - but that can be accomodated by any decent manufacturer.

RE: Three Phase Motor Data

Hello Hooverdale

Like Scotty saids is necessary to take some readings in the motor.
The attachment contains the Foot mounted IEC electric motor´s sizes, the most importants are  H: this size will give you the Frame  and  B  wil gives you the size(Small, Medium and Large Size), so for correct frame specifications you need to know the letter,  Example: H = 180 mm   will belongs for a motor frame  180) but you have three chances for  B reading: 203 mm (S )and  produce a motor  180 S ,  241 mm  for 180 M   and  279 mm  for frame  180 L. Also check the shaft diameter size and ask to the dealer if is the same for the spare part motor.

Carlos

Thats right. We did actually measured the motor parameters. And thanks to Carlos' frame sizes table we identified its frame size. That table was very helpul.thumbsup2
Cheers!
