NX6 crashes when adding component to an assembly

NX6 crashes when adding component to an assembly

(OP)
NX6 student version crashes when I try to add a component to an assembly.  The component partially loads then blink,
the screen blanks out totally and shuts off windows xp pro or sometimes goes back to the desktop with a large black patch through the center of the screen. I have tried this on many components even during the training sessions, still no luck. All other functions work normally.
Thanks in advance.

I would recommend that you contact GTAC and get a student webkey account name and post your questions on the Siemens PLM BBS as there are people watching that thread who may be able to help you.

Thank you for the quick reply.
I will do as you say.

RE: NX6 crashes when adding component to an assembly

Try this: If you are on an under-powered PC (example, Panasoic PF-51), right click in the graphics window and slide to Properties, then pick Settings, then pick Advanced, then Tpick roubleshoot, then slide the Hardware Acceration to a lower setting (less than mid-way). It works for us everytime.
