Is there a "split view" option in Mathcad?

Is there a "split view" option in Mathcad?

In MS Word (and other programs) you can split the viewscreen so that you can simultaneously view different portions of the same document.  Often the "inputs" (variable assignments) are many, many pages from the results.  I would like to be able to see both at the same time.

Sometimes, I will temporarliy add global definitions for the inputs near to the results so that they can both be viewed at the same time, but I'm hoping that there is a better way.

Thanks.

RE: Is there a "split view" option in Mathcad?

When I need to do this (often) I just go off the page to the right and type "aaa=" and it displays without modification.  Lame, but a work around.

Note that global definitions are going away, and doing so before multiple windows will appear.  Annoying, that...

Thanks for the help.  I kind of guessed that I couldn't do what I was hoping.

IRstuff, what do you mean by "global derfinitions are going away"?  Will it be unavailable on Mathcad 16?

RE: Is there a "split view" option in Mathcad?

I stand corrected.  I've been informed that while Mathcad Prime 1.0 will not global definitions, along with several other deletions, Mathcad Prime 2.0 has them on the "to-do" list.

"MathCAD Prime 1.0"?  Are these people really stupid enough to release a version 1.0?  That has to be marketing wizardry right up there with Microsoft Vista, and IBM OS2.

You can create an Area for the part of the worksheet that you don't need to see and then collapse it.  That way you can see the top of worksheet (above the Area) and the bottom (below the Area) at the same time.

RE: Is there a "split view" option in Mathcad?

Mathcad Prime has less functionality than MC15... Is it just me or does this sound a lot like Mathcad 12?

RE: Is there a "split view" option in Mathcad?

It's a complete revamp of the entire system, and they apparently elected to output an intermediate product in the development cycle.  While v12 was likewise a complete revamp, the GUI was not significantly modified.  The downfall of v12 was the level of bugginess, which the split development of Mathcad Prime ostensiby mitigates.

jghrist, I'd never even heard of areas before.  In some ways, collapsing areas is even better than what I was looking for.

Thanks everyone.
