Mach Number

Mach Number

(OP)
Hi there,
hope somebody can help me in this topic since I can't find an help in previous topics.
I am looking for an equation for calculating the Mach number in two - phase flow.
I found a relation where
Ma = (-(mass flow^2)*(x*dvgas/dpressure + (1-x)*dvliquid/dpressure + volume*(dx/dpressure))*term)^0.5
Where
Term = (1+ mass flow^2*volume*(liquid volume + x*volume)/enthalpy)^-1

Please, I'd need some help.
Has anybody ever seen this formula ?
Could someone tell me what is the term
- Volume
- Enthalpy
Referring to ?
- could someone send me an example of application ?

Many thanks

Many thanks Mr. Waterpipe !

Please, would you be so kind and indicating me a more related topic group ?
I thought that pipe was the most appropriated.

Many thanks

Hi TeeAr,
How did you assume that I'm a Mr. not a Ms.?! :)

Apparently I've missed the fact that this is also a fluid mechanic forum. I am sorry for this. I was thinking perhaps the mechanical forum would be more related.

At any rate, I hope that you've found the link to the book somehow helpful.

RE: Mach Number

TeeAr,
well, it seems you now have 2 difficult issues to address.

Good Luck.

Hello, sorry for delay !

Many thanks to your help, Waterpipe, you sent me a link that has clarified my doubts.
Thanks a lot

Mr Davefitz, let's consider one issue solved smile

To both: Merry Christmas and to the next time !
