Help with Bar_Fee_Stop Operation

Help with Bar_Fee_Stop Operation

Help with Bar_Fee_Stop Operation

(OP)
Hello,

I am using UGNX7.5 I may have misunderstood, but I thought I could use the bar_feed_stop operation to manually feed bar stock to a front stop.

I can get the tool select to go to the right dummy tool for our front stop, and then I add a UDE to tell it where to go, but I get lost from there, and I would like to be able to have it automatically select the front of the blank as the go to position anyway.

I have the tutorials, but I don't know where exactly it would be under and I didn't find the teach-mode version very helpful.

I'm sure someone knows how to do this because it is a standard technique.

Thanks,

RE: Help with Bar_Fee_Stop Operation

If your using 7.5.0 I would recommend upgrading to 7.5.2 and use Teach Mode.  The Machine Control events work correctly in 7.5.2.
This is what teach mode is for - operations that are non-standard like Bar feed or Bar puller wher you have the control to Position to a location, feed to position, open the chuck, feed to pull the bar out. close the jaws, move away and go home.

You are still going to need to define the location to move there is no Automatic positioning, I would find that too dangerous to trust.

RE: Help with Bar_Fee_Stop Operation

Thank you, sorry I am using v7.5.2 .   I'm concerned because in the machine control event my X offset is the Z direction and my Y offset is 2*X offset.

I'm really just interested in positioning the turret automatically because we use a manual bump.  I don't mind using a UDE to tell the dummy tool where to go, but it is the clearance afterward that does concern me.

I'm just wondering why have the bar_feed_stop operation if you have to use teach mode to actually get what you need?
