ALE adaptive meshing?

ALE adaptive meshing?

ALE adaptive meshing?

Hi, I got a problem running ALE adaptive meshing in Abaqus/Explicit. I am simulating the indentation on a hyperelastic gel. Due to the excessive distortion of the indentation problem, I think the ALE adaptive meshing is the only way to do. I've gone through all the manuals, I still can't find the solution. My questions are as follow:

1. ALE adaptive meshing can only be used in Abaqus/Explicit, however, when I set up a job for the ALE adaptive mesh, it asks me to set up a "remashing rule" depending on the error indicator. But....doesn't the "remashing rule" only work for Abaqus/Standard? I have tried to set the error indicator, but all the options are grayed, meaning I can't pick any one because I am running the ALE adaptive meshing in Abaqus/Explicit.

2. The error message also told me that ALE adaptive meshing can't work on the hyderelastic problem. Is that true? or because my setup isn't right?

3. What's the role of the adaptivity process? Do I need to submit it before I submit a "job"? How does it work in an analysis job?

Lots of appreciation if there's someone can help me to clear what I should do!!
