Best industrial label adhesive/material combo for nylon (polyamide) 66

(OP)
Hi...I seek the best label material and adhesive combo to "stick" to the surface of a molded nylon 66 connector housing.  The housing surface is round (diameter of 34mm), with a height of 21mm.  The surface is not flat, but is curved (R15.75).

The label will experience seasonal temperature fluctuations (max) of -50'C to +60'C.  The label will be exposed to UV and rain/sleet/snow as it is to be used outdoors. Also, the label will be exposed to vapors and dust that one would typically associate with an oil refining facility.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance that you could provide...cheers!

There is no adhesive applied marker that will survive your environment.

Some manufacturers may claim that they have something that can.  They will be lying.

Embossed, engraved or laser etched stainless is your best option.

Use an engraved stainless steel cable marker and attach it to the cable / hose, not directly to the connector body. That method survives in a steelworks environment, or at least it survives longer than anything else.

I would be tempted to laser mark the nylon housing itself.  Depending on color and exact composition, it can be quite legible and durable.

Get in touch with someone like Metal Craft who make hostile environment name tags, barcode. etc.

We used a ceramic on SS to identify lines for UT survey in a very hostile environment.

Mmilitary labels exposed to environment are often stamped metal with a screened background.

The problem with laser etching the nylon housing directly is that in a few months or years everything gets covered with a layer of crud, and you'll never know the marking is there.

I am pursuing the label avenue because I have not been able to find a suitable (read "legible") solution for etching...the surface is black.  Thanks to everyone for their input, most appreciated.
