Wind generator model

Wind generator model

Wind generator model

(OP)
For a current project I have to calculate short circuit currents of small wind park. Wind generators supplier is still not chosen, so owner of the park cannot give me exact data. But generally WG's will be 2,5 MW, converter type, probably from Vestas or Nordex.
For the purposes of short circuit study according to me I don't need complete model of the generators, but simplified model as equivalent synchronous generator have to be sufficient. Is it OK, or such representation is not possible for converter type infeeds?
If somebody can share general type model for similar generators it will be very helpful.

It may be like this in theory and practice, but in real life it is completely different.

RE: Wind generator model

I would assume something closer to 1.5 to 2.5 PU short circuit. After all induction machines don't meet the short circuit ride through requirments.

You might want to check the following paper title:
"Short Circuit Current Contribution for Different Wind Turbine Generator Types"
